Fusion 360 CAD

Fusion 360 CAD

At Monarch General Engineering (Brendale, Brisbane), we use Fusion 360 CAD in-house to support accurate quoting and efficient manufacture. By working from customer-supplied CAD files—or creating models from your drawings and samples—we can confirm dimensions, visualise assemblies, and streamline the path from concept to finished component.

Why CAD matters

Using CAD helps eliminate guesswork. It allows us to:

  • Interpret your requirements clearly and reduce the risk of errors.
  • Check critical dimensions, fits, hole locations and profiles.
  • Improve manufacturability by identifying issues early.
  • Quote more accurately and plan machining/fabrication efficiently.
  • Maintain consistent results on repeat orders and production runs.

CAD files we can work with

If you already have a model, you can send it through for quoting and manufacture. Common file formats include:

  • STEP (.stp / .step) – preferred for manufacturing
  • IGES (.igs / .iges)
  • DXF / DWG (profiles, flat patterns, plasma cutting, etc.)
  • Fusion 360 files (where applicable)
  • PDF drawings (dimensioned prints are also welcome)

If you’re unsure which format to send, don’t worry—send what you have and we’ll advise the best option.

From file to finished part

Once we receive your CAD file, we can assess the job requirements, recommend practical changes if needed (materials, tolerances, bend allowances, weld prep, etc.), and progress the work through our workshop processes such as machining, CNC plasma cutting, sheet metal forming, welding/fabrication, and finishing.

How to request a quote

For the fastest turnaround, email your CAD file along with:

  • Material and thickness (if known)
  • Quantity required.
  • Any key tolerances or critical features
  • Surface finish or marking requirements (if applicable)
  • Required delivery timeframe.

Using CAD with Fusion 360 helps us deliver clearer communication, accurate manufacture, and reliable repeatability—especially on complex parts or multi-step fabrication jobs.
